Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales Review
Jack is back. This time they did information technology right.
Nice add-on to the saga but still non as good equally the old ones...I m a xxx+ one-time big fan of the Pirates of Caribbean movies and absolutely beloved what Gore Verbinski did with the starting time three. I was utterly disappointed with the previous potc film (#four). I went to lookout this new one with a lot of prejudice. Just luckily it was an epic and fun picture show to watch! Extremely entertaining and connected with Verbinski's fashion and work. Lots of beautiful action scenes, nice landscapes, humor and never ever, at any point boring. Jack Sparrow is definitely back in great form. 8/10

totally forgettable movie
With poor plotting, inconsistent pacing and a rushed sense of chemistry amid the new bandage Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales exposes the swashbuckling sequel equally nothing more than a cash-grab that's as hollow equally the ships they occupy.

Who are you and what did you do with Jack?
Who is this new Sparrow? Considering he's certainly non Jack Sparrow. He's a full (even drunker) drunk goofball AND moron, when before he was unpredictable and funny and all in all a vivid grapheme. In that location was a few skilful chuckles and enjoyable moments but I miss the erstwhile movies. Movies one, 2 and 3 were the best. Picket it if you're a fan but don't expect to exist TOO pleased with what you lot see. Because to be honest, the only skillful things about this was a tad flake of one-act, good special furnishings and a good bandage. Bad storyline and bad grapheme development. And wtf happened to Elizabeth's hair?!?

Very lacklustre
This ane was very lacklustre, it has none of the magic of the previous four. Stuart Beattie (one of the three original script writers) is missing in this fifth instalment, and he must have played a very important part in the writing trio because the script in this ane was terrible.
And on tiptop of that Johnny Depp just isn't the same as Captain Jack, but of course we know now that he was going through a lot in his personal life due to his wedlock to that devil of a woman (and the script wasn't do him whatsoever favours either).
Overall, a really poor improver to the franchise.

The Franchise Is Withal Working Very Well
Later on watching with very low expectations to "Pirates of the Caribbean: Expressionless Men Tell No Tales", it is hard to understand the legion of haters that write in IMDb. The film is not a masterpiece simply is funny, entertaining, with slap-up bandage, special furnishings, screenplay and story. Johnny Depp performs the wolf, drunken and smart Helm Jack Sparrow in the usual funny mode. Cinema lovers of fantasy-chance genre must ignore the bad reviews and question what this kind of people that writes that the motion picture is not good similar to see or if they have difficulties to sympathise a story with many characters. My vote is seven.
Championship (Brazil): "Piratas do Caribe: A Vingança de Salazar" ("Pirates of the Caribbean area: The Revenge of Salazar")

FUN But RUNNING OUT OF STEAM!
Warning: Spoilers
As a big fan of the franchise essentially made from a Disneyland Ride the starting time three films were roaring successes and "On Stranger Tides" nosotros saw a movie that just didnt quite come together and this is substantially in the same ballpark. The story sort of mirrors the start and the return of Will and Elizabeth with their son and Barbossa's daughter going subsequently Poseidon's trident whilst new villaint Captain Salazar on the hunt for Jack after his release from the devils triangle had the makings of another fun moving picture but with no Hans Zimmer composing the score or Gore Verbinski in the manager chair it didnt quite reach the college levels, maybe time to finish now.

Fun!
I loved it! Yep, it is fabricated for the family unit audiences just it actually kept me going for two hours! It is an action filled hazard on the loftier seas from the times when Britannia ruled the waves. It has it all! Activity, pirates, sailors, ghosts and what not, only it really is entertaining! You have no other choice just to take your kids to this one, you will not exist sorry.
I especially liked Mr. Bardem as Helm Salazar, his acting is a little bit better then the rest but every actor gave hundred per centum for this moving-picture show and it shows!
Since this is my review 400 for IMDb.com I accept to have an opportunity to thank staff at the Multiplex Cinema Urban center Sarajevo for being generally kind and professional. Not to forget Meeting Indicate Movie house besides. I too want to give thanks IMDb.com staff for letting Nigh of my reviews pass.

Jack Sparrow Returns!
Finally a Pirates of the Caribbean movie that I felt quite at par with the original one. I felt in this movie, the elements of entertainment were quite arable. Unlike in the 4th installment, I think this one is funnier, more thrilling and gave the sense of happiness at the end. This fourth dimension,, the moving picture was non solely telling the story of Jack Sparrow. Instead the other characters, specially Henry and Carina were given quite a lot screen time. Information technology was nice to see Jack Sparrow's charm and wit plus his insistence of helping other people.
This movie provided some background story of Jack while he was immature, which was very interesting to encounter. The pic was filled with lots of fun and laughter but also few brief touching moments. The story was practiced and at that place were some surprises also. Equally a high upkeep movie, the movie was filled with very good special effects (some washed by the Industrial Low-cal Magic). I totally loved the furnishings of the deads (Salazar's crews), his transport and of grade the very cool special effects at the stop.
I too felt that the flick did not accept whatever dull moment. From starting time till the end, in that location were always something interesting to run across. My wife and I were entertained throughout the whole movie which was having a duration of a little over two hours. Amazingly, due to the sense of excitement, my wife was able to concur going to the bath till finished. I guess she forgotten near information technology while watching.
Actually, fifty-fifty though I looked forwards to encounter this movie, I was a bit skeptical at start about whether this 1 would be skillful enough. I felt that the quaternary one was a fiddling flake dull, and likewise a chip forced. The story for that one did non experience strong enough and certainly did not give a lot of impression. But this one really felt it was worthy of giving another sequel subsequently this. Especially if you wait till the very end, subsequently the end-credit scene, where we were given something interesting to ponder. Might be the potential story for the sequel? Possibly if this ane is successful plenty.
I believe this one really worth to see. I am happy to see Johnny Depp in this picture show which I hope would be a commercial success for him. Since his by few movies were unfortunately not actually successful ones. Perhaps people grew tired of his acting as unusual characters. And then if you are looking for something fun, light, interesting film with funny mannerly pirate and treasure hunt story, you should definitely watch this one. I am confident you would be entertained like my wife and I were.

And There Will Be a 6th Film...
I wasn't expecting a masterpiece, but I certainly wasn't expecting it to not be entertaining. At least the previous films had great swashbuckling fun and wit. They told bizarre stories that had strange characters, all of which had something to offer to the movie. The adventures were total of surprises, making them worth at least checking out, and Jack Sparrow was a character that was actually worth waiting for. This film had no personality. No heart. No passion. It was nil more than than a "bottom of the barrel" moving picture with cheap sexual activity jokes and concrete gags, most of which were served by Jack Sparrow. He was tuckered of the spirit that he had in the previous films, and wasn't even worth the time he was on screen. Nobody cared, nobody tried, and the full theater was near emptied halfway through the film. What one time was a film serial known for their cinematic experiences, is now nothing more than a dried up corpse, a event of Disney'south relentless need to milk their products to death.

a retread of its origins
Five winters after On Stranger Tides, some of the same key characters (and a few new ones) return for this latest loftier seas take chances. Callow crewman Henry Turner is on a personal mission to retrieve the Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact thought by many to be a myth. In the form of his journey he crosses paths—and eventually aligns himself with—wanted pirate Helm Jack Sparrow, and ambitious astronomer Carina Smyth. The mission is further complicated when they run afoul of Sparrow'due south 'frenemy' Captain Barbossa, and larn that a gang of undead sailors are coming their way. Follows substantially the same formula as The Expletive of the Blackness Pearl, merely the characters lack charisma (even Depp seems curiously subdued), the story is never really engaging, and all the rip-roaring activity scenes and special effects can only carry this bromidic journeying and then far. Bardem finer sneers and snarls every bit Captain Salazar, but he's one of the few highlights in an otherwise forgettable entry. **

The Two Hour Continuity Error
Warning: Spoilers
The Pirates franchise has been a scrap of a doozy since it's shocking box office success way back in 2003. Expletive of the Black Pearl was never meant to business firm a sequel, equally it was an open-and-close swashbuckler flick that was heavy on free energy, action, humor, and blockbuster soul. It garnished tons of Oscar nominations (and money), upped Johnny Depp's persona several notches, and helped give Disney the box office crown in 2003. fourteen years later we see the fifth installment, with the 2d consecutive attempt at creating a new Volition/Elizabeth love story, the second sequent attempt to replace the underrated manager of the original trilogy Gore Verbinski, and once again taking the crown as arguably the most expensive film shoot in cinematic history.
Production hell doesn't begin to draw the attempts to create the 5th flick, even though On Stranger Tides was met with very poor reviews. Johnny Depp refused the original thought, which would accept featured a female person villain for the first fourth dimension. Johnny Depp was going through a nasty divorce and got injured, delaying the shoot even longer. Disney and Bruckheimer were arguing near costs, and the script itself (which is a disaster nosotros can draw later on) was undergoing changes and multiple hands. And I'll still never empathise how the author of Rush Hour 3, Speed ii, and Belfry Heist managed to get his hands on such a big movie. Oh Hollywood The just company willing to cling on to a sinking send of a film is Disney, simply because their patience constantly gets rewarded, and it's impossible to discontinue a franchise that has earned them a nasty three.eight billion within only four films. So later on ballsy struggling for many years, we finally see Dead Men Tell No Tales gracing the screen.
Non going to lie, this film is an entertaining mess, and part of the wave of recent sequels/prequels that went through similar production issues which affected the final product. Alien: Covenant went through tons of problem, and so we encounter Fate of the Furious accept to detect a way to edit out the obvious tension between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel. Only the Pirates franchise is more than just a cluster of movies, its function of the Disney fandom civilisation, information technology has a life of its ain through video games, books, and mysteries and intrigue surrounding information technology all. So copying, abandoning and contradicting plot elements of the original trilogy gives this moving-picture show a layer of frustration we didn't need, and nosotros definitely don't deserve after such a long look. Even after the entertaining first one-half, it all gets damaged by the unmet potential and past the awkward familiarity of the plot. And this comes from the Disney Company, a motion picture studio notorious for being vigorously detailed with all of its IPs, from Marvel to (especially) Star Wars.
Another curse that doesn't allow the cursed to touch country? Sounds familiar. Woman who doesn't believe in the oceanic supernatural mumbo-jumbo? Sounds familiar. A person who denounces pirates suddenly becomes one? Also sounds familiar. British navy trying to conquer the seas from the pirates? Heh, okay. The entire plot line felt very similar to Curse of the Black Pearl, yet this installment felt like it was tapping the brakes far too much. This watered down and clownish Jack Sparrow didn't perform any swordplay once, he didn't trick anyone a unmarried time, I don't think he even delivered any clever quips of any kind. The villain didn't have a final showdown against Jack, as we witness a CGI-laden chase as our climax, a far cry from the boundless mayhem during the big showdown in Dead Human being's Chest. Worst of all, we didn't get the dramatic showdown between the enemy ships and the Flying Dutchman, the transport that yous know, controls the damn seas, and has a captain that's related to someone that is in danger throughout the film!
The potential was in that location, and wasn't met. From script to direction to storytelling decisions, Dead Men Tells No Tales has u.s. wishing for the original writing team and the original managing director to somehow bring this franchise back to decent waters. This film only farther enhances At Earth's Stop and Dead Man's Chest—two films that were met with ho-hum reviews but take honestly aged well and remain better than most of your modernistic-day blockbusters. The script here opens the door for many intriguing scenes, and they didn't deliver. We could have explored Jack Sparrow'due south aging and increasing alcoholism, Barbossa's past, the Flying Dutchman/Salazar curse connection, the fallout of the elongated separation of Will and Elizabeth, and the series-shifting scene of breaking every curse. And after seeing this, I don't take much hope in the eventual sixth installment touching these story lines either.
The Pirates of the Caribbean series now looks like its more interested in the international box function receipts and just keeping people entertained in a higher place keeping the flavor of the franchise and keeping a continuity between each chapter. On Stranger Tides, despite the mediocrity, had interesting unresolved story lines that were completely neglected here. The original trilogy's details don't match up with the backstory of Jack Sparrow in Dead Men Tell No Tales.
You will see some high-budget fun, comical mayhem, a expert performance by Javier Bardiem, but it all gets evaporated when nosotros reach the series-changing yet series-contradicting final human action. The franchise is far from being expressionless, but male child it might be time to let this send disappear out into the horizons unless nosotros go a superior cast writing and filming information technology. Jack Sparrow and all his fans deserve much ameliorate.

A mediocre film from a dying series of great films.
Sadly, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales was simply a mediocre film from a dying series of great films, and this film honestly brings cypher new to the tabular array for this series. In a time full of cinematic universes, and unnecessary reboots, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales doesn't do anything special to wow audiences like it originally did almost 15 years ago. The film was full of mediocre acting, writing, visuals, and music, and is a film that will honestly but end up being forgotten similar the film that came earlier it. In the end I decided to give Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales an "Alright" on theVade Review Bar or a v out of x. It'south heartbreaking to say, only I take to concord with what Mark Kennedy from the Associated Printing said nearly this flick. "After this 5th episode, you'll wish Disney would just declare the franchise expressionless and tell no more tales."

Back to the Caribbean maybe a time too many.
Warning: Spoilers
To some, to know him is to love him. But has that swash-buckling, dared doer Jack Sparrow dropped anchor in the Caribbean a time too many? Has the lucrative franchise lost some of the original luster? The rousing adventure continues every bit Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) seems to detect himself against the odds, yet again, as an old nemesis Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem) and his gathering of minion ghost pirates threaten a rampage of killing every living pirate on the seas. The drunken, withal witty, Captain Jack must put winds behind him to search for the Trident of Poseidon, a mythical artifact that gives its possessor unquestionable control over the seas.
Plenty of action and great visuals. It remains to exist seen, but scuttlebutt has it that this may just be the final time Jack Sparrow will become his boots wet. Espen Sandberg directs a very decorated cast that also features: Geoffrey Rush, Kaya Scodelario, David Wenham, Brenton Thwaites, Kevin McNally and Angus Barnett. Impressive cameos feature Keira Knightly, Orlando Bloom and Sir Paul McCartney.

After viewing of Expressionless Men Tell No Tales I have understood that On Stranger Tides were likewise not it and bad continuation of original history
Afterwards viewing of Dead Men Tell No Tales I have understood that On Stranger Tides were also not it and bad continuation of original history. In a new part at that place is no nada left adept from the orinigalny trilogy except the excellent game Johnny Depp. And one actor tin't salvage the movie even if it is the blockbuster. New actors don't cope with the roles, and creators as understood information technology and have returned besides old. The chief antagonist - the most slow villain in movies for the last few years. He has neither charisma, nor motives. Why he in general is necessary in the movie? What purposes at him? And the catastrophe is so banal that it seems that the movie obviously for audience of children upwardly to 7-8 years. If Dead Men Tell No Tales restart of a franchise from Disney, and so Pirates of the Caribbean accept died.

A tale not worth telling...
I think information technology'south loftier fourth dimension Disney dropped the anchor for the Pirates franchise as this 5th installment went in no new directions. It's noisy, unfunny, and painfully unbalanced. The villain is forgettable, Jack Sparrow contributes zippo to the story, and the quirky nature clashes unevenly with the darker and grittier sequences, a flaw that's persisted worse and worse since Curse of the Black Pearl. At that place are a few entertaining set- pieces, but for the most role Dead Men Tell No Tales is a mindnumbing and senseless picture that was absolutely dreadful to sit through.

It's Just As well Much
We still think the pleasant cinematic surprise from Pirates of the Caribbean area, which took us on a fun risk fit for the young at eye. When the sequel came out, we started to grow a niggling sick of information technology. By the tertiary, it had overstayed its welcome. By the fourth, crap, I keep forgetting that a fourth one exists! Anyhow, now we're on fifth, where a few skilful qualities, to our amazement, remained consistent these past xiv years. It withal sustains the same atmosphere, like watching a product of the 2000's. Depp has all the same got it with his iconic performance, Geoffrey Rush still graces the screen, and best of all, Hans Zimmer's famous score sounds fresher than ever.
Whew, got the good stuff out of the way. Now let us talk about the atrocities of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Basically, the principal hero has to find the Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis do to harness its power to control life and death. Oops, wrong moving-picture show. Well, only supervene upon the ark with the trident of Poseidon, and the Nazis with a pirate ghost ground forces, and the plot stays pretty much the same. Yes, the youth of the previous decade were into ancient mythology, merely now they moved on to obsessing over the hereafter. Why not permit a dated concept sit to collect shelf dust?
The whole Indiana Jones rip-off of a plot may intrigue the parents afterward overcoming the opening prologue: A male child goes out rowing, ties his ankle to a rope, then tosses into the ocean a pile of rocks tied to the other finish of the rope. It looks less similar Will Turner's son going down to meet him in the Flying Dutchman and more like Suicide 101. This honestly could have all landed on the cutting room floor; everything is retold anyhow.
The teens may feel rather dissatisfied besides. No pretty imagery parades through to please their senses, particularly by the dull darkly lit stage combat. That likewise goes for the "fun" action scenes shot in wide daylight, such as the start one, where a bunch of horses pull a house through the hamlet streets. Then later, zombie sharks attack for 3 minutes' tops, a CGI-infested made-for-3D visual which looks similar patty cake compared to what Zack Snyder can orchestrate.
As for the kids, keep them far away. Afterward all, the rating says PG-13. Inappropriate content gladly makes its way in for nothing besides a few cheap laughs, from the sexual (gawking at a woman'southward bare ankles) to the tasteless (offending every Spaniard in the world). However, the children are most likely to be traumatized by some of the imagery, including a basket of severed heads at the pes of a guillotine.
Although the greater portion of audiences volition groan over the production's excessive desperation to curse you lot with a giggle fit. At the screening I went to, the audience laughed enough throughout, even I chuckled a few times. Withal the dialogue still lacks whatsoever betoken as the cast goes tirelessly in search for a punchline. For example, 1 of the many pointless moments puts Jack Sparrow inside a whale skeleton to wednesday a boogery ogress of a woman.
These tiresome jokes are blaring enough to make you believe the plot doesn't even exist, or that the jokes came from the mouths of human beings with fears and opinions. The characters keep contradicting their own desires; especially Jack Sparrow'due south Black Pearl coiffure, who right at the kickoff abandons him for no reason, then later comes back for him for no reason. A predictable romantic subplot further bombards the cardinal plot, as played betwixt two actors with no chemistry; the female half of the equation, played by the unenthusiastic Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner) makes it worse by relying on the eyes on her chest other than the eyes on her face up to stir up emotions. Yous could potentially forgive the writers for their lack of intendance in developing believable relationships, until the ending closes every story arc with pure hogwash.
Oh, believe me, information technology gets worse. This movement picture show also brings upward the fact that Galileo Galilei actually built his telescope to search for the trident of Poseidon, as a map to its location is found within the stars. Apparently, all these historians disregarded that important detail. Well, because this alternate reality features a ghost regular army who pass through matter still withal kill people with their swords, that historical "fact" is the closest to believable Dead Men Tell No Tales gets.
Okay, enough already. Did nosotros seriously forget that Pirates of the Caribbean area was once simply a freaking animatronic bear witness breathed on by Walt himself?

Rating: C+
The Pirates of the Caribbean saga isn't properly a not bad one ... Its start moving picture established an amazing character that mostly defines Johnny Depp career (he's been criticized in other movies for doing also "Jack Sparrow-isms") and it was a movie full of adventure, fun and thrilling activity scenes. From the 2d installment to the fourth it has been a tormentous journey, with each movie worse than the latter. Well, one thing is sure: Dead Men Tell No Tales (or Salazar'southward Revenge, every bit it was shown at my theater) is the all-time ane since the kickoff ... Which is non maxim much.
Let me start with the skilful things offset. The soundtrack keeps being ballsy and memorable, which makes every action sequence better, fifty-fifty if the action itself isn't great. Henry and Carina are first-class additions to the story as well equally the actors portraying those characters. Javier Bardem as well does a great job every bit the villain and Barbossa gets a very emotional role in this installment, captured brilliantly past Geoffrey Rush. Actually, if there's ane thing that defines the Pirates of the Caribbean series, is the cast's chemistry, it feels that they're all at that place having fun and not just in that location to receive their paycheck.
The story is the most interesting since the first movie of the franchise, even if it becomes a mess mid-way through and as well exaggerated. The ending, I cartel to say, information technology'southward perfect. I mean, with all its flaws, this movie manages to end on an extremely high note, full of emotion, with a lot of mysteries solved and fifty-fifty some closure (if this isn't the last fourth dimension we've seen Jack Sparrow, the production is just going to keep drowning the whole thing and ruin information technology more than what information technology already is).
For all it's worth, I nevertheless can't quite give a positive review to this one ...
The action scenes are disappointing, they're in that location more for a comic relief moment than for a thrilling set piece and there'south more running and jumping than bodily sword and ship-fighting. Some of them are so over-the-top that it just makes them look stupid. The sense of humor is also a bit too much ... Not that the movie isn't funny, information technology'due south just that they never one time understood when to cease a joke (at that place are several jokes that go on and on and on and on ...).
The pacing is surprisingly slow until the beginning of the tertiary human action (best ane of the motion-picture show) and it feels like at that place's no rush in saving anyone's life. The characters are just going from place to identify in the messiest, strangest and desperately scripted mode possible which doesn't help to keep me captivated at all and actually makes the movie feels longer than it is (even if it is indeed a fleck too long).
My biggest disappointment is, by far, Johnny Depp. Don't become me wrong, he was born to play this role, but I feel that giving him 100% freedom, which is something that was definitely decided backside the scenes with the directors, kind of damaged his performance. It feels like he's doing an impression of himself portraying Jack Sparrow! In addition to this, Dead Men Tell No Tales is the movie with less screen time for this character ... Interesting, at least.
Finally, I didn't bask the humor as I expected to. I remember the comedy isn't equally funny and clever every bit it was already in the previous movies and the whole film seems similar a bunch of absurd scenes glued together with a messy plot. The production/directors built the story effectually these awesome moments instead of the other way around and the final result isn't exactly skilful.
In the end, Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (or Salazar's Revenge) is another film that critics are giving too much of a hard fourth dimension to. It's the best movie since the offset 1 (which is non proverb much, I know), it has an interesting premise, some smashing additions to the cast and story, the usual epic score that helps the action sequences a lot and the ending is nailed perfectly. Nevertheless, it does accept a lot of flaws: from the action scenes themselves to the slow pacing and from the messy plot to the surprisingly non that funny humor, going through a disappointing functioning from Johnny Depp, this movie isn't almost perfection whatsoever.

Oh My God I Am So Effing Disappointed I Cannot Believe What I Have Just Seen
(Gonna effort non to cuss) I volition start by proverb I was/am fanatical about all iii of the first ones. Yes the original is yet the best, but the 2d is well-nigh every damn chip equally good. The plot was creative enough that it felt necessary, the writing was on par with the first, and Davy Jones is And so freaking good oh my god he is literally my favorite villain of all time (save for Agent Smith). The third i has its flaws (though I really can't think of any besides Keira Knightley'southward interim being occasionally over the top), only as a whole it's a WONDERFUL motion-picture show. Like sweetness Jesus, Hans Zimmer'south freaking score for that movie lone is goddamn legendary. And as a result I totally bought into the romance between Will & Elizabeth and actually only felt an emotional connection to the whole series because of it (much like the emotion Howard Shore'due south music invokes for LotR). But what makes the third one and so impressive is how well it handles ALL of that crazy plot while however introducing not bad new sh*t like the Brethren Court.
But I'm not here to talk about how great the original trilogy was. Odds are, almost of you liked them too. What I want to talk nearly briefly before I tear Dead Men Tell No Tales to shreds, is On Stranger Tides. From what I gather, the fourth installment was/is NOT very popular. I similar it. And I'll tell you why. While it didn't accept the same epic sense of calibration and adventure and romance and everything that made the first three then keen, IT STILL HAD GOOD WRITING. It was clever, and witty, and funny as ever. And this is because Ted & Terry were still writing them, not FRICKING Jeff Nathanson. OMFG I'll get to him after. I would urge y'all though to become dorsum and give On Stranger Tides some other chance, especially if you lot've at present seen the fifth installment. I recall you'll find that even though information technology doesn't quite agree upwards confronting the beginning three information technology still FEELS like a Pirates of the Caribbean, and for all the reasons that Dead Men Tell No Tales did not, and here they are:
1) Johnny Depp has completely lost it. It's like he forgot how to play Jack Sparrow. At that place were seriously times watching him when I thought he was more than Mad Hatter than he was Jack Sparrow. And it'due south then lamentable to watch. The old Jack was an idiot sure, but he was always clever, he was ever suave, e'er absurd. In this he's just silly. It's embarrassing. I'm serious when I say he acts like the Mad Hatter, you'll encounter what I mean. In the 4th one he at least however felt like Jack Sparrow.
2) Zimmer's and so called "protege" Geoff Zanelli is so forgettable. I was actually trying to listen for his music merely the just times the music stood out was when he was rehashing Zimmer's themes. And some of you may be like *sissy voice "oh that'south all Zimmer did was rehash Badelt'due south themes". BISH PLEASE. Not only did he make Badelt'southward original theme audio even better, he introduced then many new ones (Jack'southward theme, Davy Jones' theme, Will & Elizabeth's theme). Fifty-fifty On Stranger Tides added a fun new Castilian twist to the onetime stuff.
iii) Salazar, Henry, & Carina are also all completely forgettable. They're worse than Blackbeard (who I actually quite liked), Philip, and Syrena. There is hardly Whatever grapheme evolution for them and what little there was felt SO forced. I feel terrible for them (especially Thwaites and Bardem) because they're not bad actors (Bardem is really a fantastic actor) but they just got saddled with one of the WORST freaking scripts of all time, which brings me to my final and primary complaint with the fifth installment.
4) JEFF NATHANSON IS CANCER. I hateful my biggest (only) concerns from the start (because allow's exist honest the trailer's gave NO hint that the movie would be this bad) were the fact that Zimmer wasn't composing and that JEFF NATHANSON, the idiot who ruined Indiana Jones, was writing it, but I NEVER thought he could have F'd upwards this film, not as badly as he did. Similar, the pic had SO much going for it. Salazar could accept been another swell villain to put alongside Jones and Barbossa, but he was totally wasted with minimal and poor dialogue. Carina Smith, a female person astronomer, could have been a Smashing female character! And her romance with Henry could have been done BEAUTIFULLY! Instead, what did we get? Well, I won't spoil it for you only I will say there is one of the most forced, predictable, and painstakingly bland twists I've ever seen in a movie regarding her character.
And so, every bit I said, I admittedly LOVED the first three, and I really did similar the quaternary one. Enough that I was very excited about what they could do with the next one (the fifth one). All my friends said the franchise was expressionless but I maintained that the fifth installment had the potential to be amazing (which it did). And I waited Vi GODDAMNED YEARS for this fifth i. And it, was merely, god, awful. Then bad that I actually now don't want to encounter another installment, and I will honestly probably never watch information technology over again because it's then bad that it most taints my honey for the first iv.
I tried to think of reasons to give it more than the lowest possible rating, whatever reason. And ALL I could think of was the visual quality that the two Norwegian directors brought to it, so good for them, I give the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean a whopping two stars.
Give thanks you. This has been my angrily hastened unedited review of Expressionless Men Tell No Tales.

Good Tales Be Told By Dead Men
Warning: Spoilers
Afterward the ordeal of On Stranger Tides comes a sequel that sets sails in a truly amazing and beautiful style.
Outset off the film is a cracking send up compared to the weakest link in the series, On Stranger Tides. The cast, effects, and story line are nifty. The flick as a whole is amazing.
Once again we get Johnny Depp as the always funny and intoxicated Captain Jack Sparrow. His performance is hilariously outrageous. He is very adept and funny inside the film. Different his performance in Stranger Tides his acting a characterization of the titular helm seems to have great passion and not the feeling of a called in performance.
Once again my personal favorite character returns to the 5th flick is Geoffrey Blitz as the amazingly interesting Helm Hector Barbossa. Within the Hector notwithstanding rides high as the captain at the helm of the Queen Ann'south Revenge. When we meet up with him in the film he has become very wealthy and rich from merchandise and knocking off ships. He then joins a false brotherhood with the films hardcore villain, Captain Salazar. Blitz's performance as the titular captain is dandy and very touching. A sad note for many including me is that this is barbossa'due south last appearance in the series. He dies towards the end of the film, in a very mettlesome and brave manor, trying to save his long lost girl Carina Smith, played past Kaya Scodelario.
Next We go are new villain, Captain Salazar, played past Javier Bardem. Bardem's performance every bit the tortured Captain Salazar is one for the ages. His functioning is gut renchingly creepy and at the same time sympathetic in a dark sort of fashion. His story goes like this, he was a might Spanish general who hunted and killed thousands of pirates across the sea. During one of his showdowns he was confronted by a very young (Thanks to nifty CGI) Jack Sparrow. He is then tricked by Jack and his transport is sent into the Devil's Triangle where he and his crew are cursed to stay forever, or at least until Jack screws up and permit's them free.
Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan return for a very brief time bridge in this entry merely their presence is very well known. Keira Knightly and Orlando Flower return as their titular characters from the previous installments. Will, now five years after 16 years after he became the helm of the Flight Dutchman is covered in barnacles and coral, nevertheless not as bad as quondam fish face, Davy Jones. Keira Knightley shows upwardly towards the climax of the motion-picture show where hither and will can finally reunite again later on the trident of Poseidon is broken and all of the curses in the encounter are destroyed. Though they are in the film for a very brief time frame their presence is quite uplifting and good, a truthful treat would be to see them have bigger roles in up incoming installments.
Are new characters are Brenton Thwaites and of course Kaya Scodelario as the ii young leads of the film. Thwaite's plays Henry Turner, the son of Volition and Elizabeth, who in the film is sixteen. Inside the picture, he wants to free his male parent from the dreaded expletive of being jump to the Dutchman. In doing and then he needs the trident of Poseidon. Thwaite'due south plays Henry in a very natural fashion. He seems in place in the motion-picture show and does a very good job. Then we have Kaya Scodelario as Carina Smith. Smith is a women of science. She believes in the simple and factual way of life. Afterward in the pic nosotros acquire that she is the daughter of Barbossa, who had her at a very immature age along time ago. Their relationship, Geoffrey Rush's and Kaya Scodelario's is very sweet and subtle. through the film you lot can feel Barbossa'southward pain of knowing who his daughter is and her non knowing who her father is. Scodelario plays Carina superbly and is 1 the new standout performances.
On a minor charter level we have a new British antagonist, General Scarfeild played by the brilliant and underrated Australian player David Whenham. Though in the film for a brusk period, Scarfeild is an interesting charter and chews the scenes he is in. Another new charter is the films new voodoo witch played by Golihifteh Farahani. In the film she is the friend of Barbossa and give him valuable information. She is creepy and interesting as her character.
From a film making stand bespeak, the film looks great. The colors in the film are magnificent, the ships and sea faring parts are extraordinary, and the special effects are freaking amazing, Salazar and his crew are beautiful in a creepy dead rotted pirate way. The two new directors did a very practiced task, way meliorate then Rob Marshall directing On Stranger Tides.
On an overall await, Pirate of the Caribbean v: Dead Men Tell No Tales is an amazing film. The acting is spectacular. The Visuals are excellent and the story is very impressive. I loved the moving-picture show, my one complaint would be that Barbossa Dies. He was my favorite grapheme in the series. Well, anyways, the picture was a smashing fun-filled ride and i personally can't wait until the next 1.
Residual in Peace Captain Barbossa, until we see again!
Two-Peg legs upwards!

Pirates of the dull
Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic Jack Sparrow in the "Pirates of the Caribbean area: Expressionless Men Tell No Tales." A drawing like Depp and a boring plot sends this fifth "Pirates" to the bottom. It has a few thrilling action sequences, but it'due south ofttimes loud and dumb and most unfortunately, lacks the wit and fun that made the first Pirates of the Caribbean area and then entertaining. Oscar winners Geoffrey Rush and Javier Bardem do their best only they tin can't salve this send from cartoon. It's fine for a bit, merely then you lot realize that you've seen all of these things before, and they aren't getting any fresher. If there was ever a indicate of time where this franchise would permanently stop, now is the right moment.

Seriously... Another One?
Subsequently the dreadful predecessor that was 'On Stranger Tides', I entered the cinema with rather poor expectations... how I left with even lower enjoyment is beyond me.
Perhaps it'southward the fact that a theme park ride can't sustain a story for an unabridged film franchise? Maybe it'southward the fact that I've seen this story earlier in 4 other films? Perhaps the lack of grapheme development and me not giving a damn about any of the new characters? Or perchance it'south just because it's an orgy of CGI madness? Who knows? Either way, this motion picture is a complete over-the-acme mess. Watchable? Yes. Enjoyable? Hell no!
I admit that 'Dead Man's Chest' and 'At World's End' weren't "fantastic" movies, simply they rounded off a rather enjoyable trilogy, specially following the ultimately brilliant first motion-picture show. Only the ii sequels' success should not have been an excuse for a fourth and at present a fifth film, with each film the reception lowers and the standards and eagerness for the next farther lowers. Still, Disney equally the opportunistic blighters they are, take their box office success with pace and await to creating the next underwhelming, money-making sequel. This fourth dimension it'southward in the form of 'Dead Men Tell No Tales'.
The overuse of jokes we've heard on several previous occasions, the fact that the honey Jack Sparrow is now becoming a character nosotros await at in antipathy because he's worn out, much like the franchise. Scraping the bottom of the barrel, milking upon its previous success... both terms that tin be applied suitably to this motion-picture show (if that's what I tin can call it). And do you know what the worst part is? This film will make its money dorsum, it'll double, triple, quadruple its budget in box part returns, thus giving the producers a reason to create yet-another dull sequel.
All-in-all, I actually retrieve I had an aneurysm whilst watching this film...

Take fun with the pirates and Johny Depp is even so the soul
Dear readers, Pirates of the Caribbean is a movie that I have been watching since my loftier school. Now I am already in the working life, but the spirit of that motion picture serial is still on my heart, and then that yesterday I watched information technology. Since last yr, I know that there will be a continuity of that motion picture, but I never knew that the movie is about Revenge, well yes, finally about Revenge. Before I am telling to y'all my review, it is important to recollect that each movie of Pirates of Caribbean movie, includes an unique plot within information technology, for case the final hazard is about Family, and and so the others are about Love, Friendship, Father-Son relation, and Helm-Crew honesty. In this latest movie of Pirates of the Caribbean, it is about Revenge, simply do not hesitate to spotter it, considering the plot is designed not to show up about the Revenge itself, merely in that location are legend, myth, Science, Witch, fantasy, history of Banking company, ethical Law of pirates, and of course ridiculous run a risk are effectually the plot, from the beginning to the finish. I tin can guarantee y'all that you will be laughing of many funny actions or languages, and sometimes you do not care well-nigh the end, what you really care is that the condom of the soul of this flick: That is Captain Jack Sparrow. Yes, Johny Depp is still the soul of the movie. He is leading all characters and he is the one who is making this adventure happens. Also of its perfect, this pic has some illogical scenes and some missing plots, so that for those who are not really fan of Pirates of the Caribbean area movies, volition non really understand who is the real enemy and what pirates stake of life in that kind of level to protect Helm Jack Sparrow. Well, there must be a betrayal, but this motion-picture show never betray y'all to requite a lot of have fun!!

A Jar of Dirt
Warning: Spoilers
Recall when Johnny Depp exploded onto the big screen as Jack Sparo- Sorry, CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow, and it was awesome? Ah the skilful old days, what I would give to get back to that fourth dimension where Pirates were cool and Salazar'south Revenge didn't exist. The fifth instalment to the Pirates franchise displays a complete evolution of genre complying with Louis Giannetti's theory. The Cure of the Black Pearl marked the Primitive genre stage, the moving picture blew audiences away and introduced them to the pirates genre. Dead Man's Breast marked the classical phase, classical conventions were utilised such equally the Kraken and what have you. Next is the Revisionist stage of At World'due south Cease with it'south time travel, witches that grow into giants and that sinkhole final human action, let's just ignore the pointless 4th film aaaaaaaaaand at present, unfortunately, we accept the all out parody that is Salazar's revenge.
Pirates 5 is quite simply a parody of itself, from its stupidly absurd, comedic action sequences, to Johnny Depp himself. This film feels like one big joke and I tin pinpoint the verbal moment I knew this to be true. The way Jack is introduced in this pic is quite possibly one of the goofiest sequences I've ever seen in the cinema. I've seen banking company robberies go incorrect earlier, but stealing the banking concern itself... All I can say is, what are those horses taking and where can I get me some? Only WAIT In that location'Southward More than! The guillotine scene is just so horrifically bad I physically had to lift my jaw up off the floor in a mix of amazement and bafflement. The Pirates franchise is no stranger to big, illogical, comical activeness scenes, but this film takes that to a whole different level of stupidity and is almost like a scene out of Ballsy Movie.
As well as the action scenes existence all out parodies of ones which preceded them, the acting is as much, if non more so. Johnny Depp drunkenly stumbles out of the children's infirmary to play Jack Sparrow again... Or at least I recall he was acting... I'm non quite sure to be honest. Sparrow has always been an alcoholic grapheme, but that was once his lovable amuse, now Depp slurs his speech and acts so confused to the signal where information technology's hard to believe he hadn't had "a unmarried drop of rum." This being said he gives the best performance in this film which is shocking to be honest. Geoffrey Rush, similar to Depp, plays a parody of his character Captain Barbossa, but to exist honest, Barbossa was e'er a kind of parody of pirates and then I can let that slide. Nonetheless, what I cannot excuse is the bottomless performance past the films ii newcomers Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario. Not helped by their rather forced human relationship, the two provide a masterclass in wooden acting that makes it near impossible to intendance for their characters.
Nevertheless bad the interim is, information technology is not the worst part of this film, oh no. That would be the films script and visuals. Firstly, the script. Pirates 5 is plagued with terrible dialogue. Lines are recycled over and over, exposition is embedded with fiddling effort and subtlety and the sex jokes, lots and lots of cringe worthy, unfunny sexual activity jokes. Sex jokes are practically the back bone of comedy nowadays and can be hilarious, but hither the jokes but come off as muddied, like a bunch of dingy old men in a bar recounting "the things I'd do to her." Only put, it's extremely uncomfortable to watch and hear. The film also features a few pointless characters. From the bald witch lady who is but there to give Barbossa Jack's compass, to Paul McCartney's Cameo role as Uncle Jack. The film just doesn't need them and they either act every bit a plot device or a waste material of everyone'south time.
Now the visuals, the film was poorly shot. The lighting at night was not real and the way the camera is positioned for some shots was perhaps the single worst place they could have placed the camera, hidden behind objects so the action of focus is distorted/ out of view. Besides yous tin can clearly tell where the film is missing a vital shot or just couldn't exist bothered to shoot it, equally the apply of fast cutting and cutting away shots are used in an attempt to encompass this upward, only instead only highlights it and thus confuses the audience. SPOILER WARNING! When Henry is kidnapped past Salazar at that place is no shot of him being pulled abroad or anything. A series of fast cuts, Carina's reaction shot to a non existent shot and expositional dialogue of "THEY TOOK HENRY!" is used to present his capture, and frankly it but seems like they spent too much money on Salazar's gravity defying hairdo, that their visual furnishings upkeep was bone dry. This happens a off-white bit in Pirates 5 and it simply leaves you every bit dislocated as Depp appears to exist throughout.
To conclude, Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge is by far the worst in the Pirates franchise. A full on parody of what information technology in one case was with horrific acting, poorly shot sequences and a script that needs some work done to say the least. I know I've been insanely harsh so, on the off risk that the filmmakers see this, I would similar to say the famous line "it's zippo personal, information technology's simply business organization" whether or not you lot hold or disagree with me, none of us can deny that the theme tune is absolutely epic and pumps us up every time.

An Aging Franchise Overstays its welcome
Pirates of the Caribbean, when it came out in the early 2000s, was i of the about original and unique movies to be released in recent memory. Information technology was a dandy mix of comedy, adventure and action that could appeal to the whole family. Depp's boozy Helm Jack Sparrow was part ruthless pirate and part sly wink. You never knew which one yous would become. The first 1 got it all right: a nifty story, a ton of adventure and a lot of fun. However, the series has dropped in quality a bit more than with each subsequent release, to the indicate that now I find the whole thing boring, trite and overdone. Depp'due south Sparrow continues his act, but at present it's more canned and predictable. The story seems to exist written as it goes along, so you lose track of what'south going on and who's doing what and why we fifty-fifty care. Information technology deals with Will Turner and Elizabeth Swain'due south son and that he wants to join an evil pirate group and yada yada. Some explosions, sword fights, Sparrow drunk walking and some boats on the water. Ho hum. The good news was at 2 hours, this was i of the shorter films in the series. The bad news is this aging franchise has long overstayed its welcome.
